How Italian do you want it?

I spent my day off today taking my boss back to the airport (Bari - 2.5hours drive away) following a flying visit. I took a less direct route back via Taranto, scene of a wartime Royal Navy "Pearl Harbour" style attack - somewhere to blend-in rather than be obviously British! It is very picturesque (in places quite run down), full of tiny side streets and alleyways - some only just big enough to squeeze through!

I arrived there at about lunchtime, so everything was shut and all the streets were full of overheard shouted lunchtime discussions.

About an hour of quiet wandering then drive back to Porto Cesareo through the olive harvest.
